Ah, the question of equipoise, quips Gwendolena,
Tripping through the woods on her twinkle-toes.
'Tis but the dance of life, sings the dryad formerly-known-as-a-nymph.
There I was in Springtime,
A goddess fair with golden hair,
Then came the Winter of my discontent,
As off he went:
My husband.
Mad as a March hare, that Merlin.
What's a damsel to do?
He said I could remarry —
I did not tarry.
And wed I was at the next equinox,
A September bride to a May young man.
What better balance,
Than a little romance?
